UK Investing

An Individual Savings Account (ISA) is a tax-efficient savings or investment wrapper available in the UK. You don't pay income tax or capital gains tax on returns from ISA investments. There are several types including Cash ISA, Stocks & Shares ISA, Lifetime ISA, and Junior ISA.

The FTSE 100 (pronounced "Footsie") is an index of the 100 largest companies listed on the London Stock Exchange by market capitalisation. It's one of the most widely used indicators of the UK stock market's performance.

For the 2025/26 tax year, the annual ISA allowance is £20,000 across all your ISAs (excluding Junior ISA). Junior ISAs have a separate £9,000 limit. Lifetime ISAs have a £4,000 annual limit (which counts towards the £20,000 total).

You need to be 18 to open a Stocks & Shares ISA or a Lifetime ISA in the UK. However, a Junior ISA can be opened for anyone under 18 by a parent or guardian. Our platform is designed for learners aged 16+.
